Job description

Job Description

The Production Artist must have a comprehensive understanding of the print production process. The role of the Production Artist at THR3D is a bridge between 2D print and 3D CGI. The skill set must include a high level of proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop applications. A solid understanding of print production techniques is necessary to take existing production art files and prepare them for 3D production.

As part of a team, the Production Artist will work closely with Producers, Modelers, and Lighters to provide the necessary 2D files for CGI production. Additionally, creating vector art for 3D Displacement maps is a requirement of the position.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Understand the structure of pre-press files, color spaces, and the requirements for successful results.
  2. Attend client meetings (e.g., pre-production) as necessary.
  3. Ensure accurate, consistent, and timely completion of high-quality artwork of basic to intermediate or complex levels, effectively using industry-standard software, tools, and print techniques.
  4. Create simple/basic 2D and/or 3D renders.
  5. Meet quality standards for all deliverables and suggest improvements to management regarding reports, tools, processes, and tasks.
  6. Work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.
  7. Prioritize workload, proactively seek answers, and meet deadlines.
  8. Build strong internal partnerships and collaborate across teams and clients.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combined education and experience.
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in disciplines such as Graphic Arts, Marketing, Advertising, Interior Design, Fine Arts, or Fashion preferred.
  • Experience in prepress, graphic arts, or related print manufacturing field required.
  • Core skills include proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, print pre-press knowledge, and color management, with understanding of RGB & CMYK color modes.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills:
    • Excellent communication skills—oral and written; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
    • Attention to detail and strong project management skills.
    • Ability to work well in teams and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
    • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, clients, and vendors.
  • Experience using Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Adobe Creative Suite (including Bridge, Photoshop, Illustrator).

Compensation varies based on geographic location, experience, and other factors, with a U.S. pay range of $60,245 - $75,306 annually. Benefits include health care plans, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending or HSA, disability coverage, and 401(k).

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Associate's Degree preferred.

Experience

Required experience in print manufacturing, prepress, or graphic arts.
