*This role is currently remote, but could become hybrid based in Chicago in the future

Job Description

The Production Artist must have a comprehensive understanding of the print production process and packaging structures. The role of the Production Artist at THR3D is a bridge between 2D print and 3D CGI. The skill set must include a high level of proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. A solid understanding of print production techniques is necessary to modify existing production art files for 3D production.

As part of a team, the Production Artist will work closely with Producers, Modelers, and Lighters to provide the necessary 2D files for CGI production. The position also requires creating vector art for 3D Displacement maps.

Job Responsibilities

1. Understand the structure of pre-press files, color spaces, and requirements for successful output.
2. Attend client meetings such as pre-production sessions as needed.
3. Ensure accurate, consistent, and timely completion of high-quality artwork, utilizing industry-standard software and techniques.
4. Create basic 2D and/or 3D renders.
5. Maintain quality standards for deliverables and suggest improvements to management.
6. Work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with minimal supervision.
7. Prioritize workload, proactively seek answers, and meet deadlines.
8. Develop strong internal partnerships and collaborate across teams.
9. Make process improvement recommendations to management.
10. Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED; an Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in related fields is preferred.
11. Previous experience in prepress, graphic arts, or related print manufacturing required.
12. Core skills include proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat, print pre-press knowledge, packaging structure understanding, and color management (RGB & CMYK).
13. Excellent communication, organizational, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills.
14. Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, clients, and vendors.
15. Experience using Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across U.S. markets. The annual salary range is $60,000 - $65,000, depending on location, experience, and other factors.
