Job summary

Concordia Lutheran Ministries seeks an energetic Activity Director to lead our activities team and create engaging experiences for residents across independent, personal care, and skilled nursing settings. You will plan activities that support social, physical, intellectual, recreational, and spiritual needs while maintaining detailed records and coordinating staffing.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree in recreational therapy or related field, with two years of long-term care activities

Qualifications

• An associate degree in recreational therapy or a related field is preferred.
• Two years of long-term care activities experience.
• Activity certification or course completion is preferred.
• Experience in music, art, drama or dance therapy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan individual and group activities for a variety of interests and abilities.
• Create weekly and monthly calendars, coordinate outings and help residents participate.
• Lead activities staff through hiring, training, scheduling, coaching and recognition.
• Manage supplies, expenses, volunteers and seasonal decorating.
• Maintain activity records, attendance and required MDS documentation.
• Foster a caring, compassionate and energetic program environment.

What You’ll Do as an Activity Director:
