Job summary

Harmony Court Rehab and Nursing is seeking an Activities Director to lead engaging, meaningful programs for residents in a long-term care setting. This role focuses on creating vibrant activity schedules to promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being for seniors.

Qualifications

• Experience in assisted living or nursing home environments.
• Strong background in event planning or program development.
• Familiarity with dementia care and memory support programs.
• Excellent communication with residents.
• Ability to build positive resident rapport and inclusive atmosphere.
• Experience with disabilities or special needs is desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office for scheduling and documentation.
• Leadership to coordinate staff and volunteers.
• Knowledge of senior living facility operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and implement diverse recreational programs tailored to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs, including memory care and dementia-specific activities.
• Plan and oversee resident events such as social gatherings, outings, celebrations, and therapeutic activities that encourage participation and foster community spirit.
• Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences, histories, and individual needs to personalize activities effectively.
• Collaborate with caregiving staff, nursing teams, and family members to ensure activities align with residents’ health plans and cognitive levels.
• Manage scheduling of daily activities, ensuring smooth operation and maximum resident engagement throughout the day.
• Maintain detailed records of participation, progress notes, and activity outcomes to support resident care plans.
• Utilize Microsoft Office tools to organize schedules, prepare reports, and communicate program updates clearly to team members.
