Job summary

AdvantEdge Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Field Engineer for full-time, extensive shipboard travel to support the AEGIS Electronic Cooling Water Systems (ECWS).

The role requires leading a team, performing mechanical and electrical tasks, and ensuring maintenance, installation, and operations on DDGs and CGs in fleets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or 11–13 years of applicable experience if no degree.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in mechanical and electrical tasking.
• Ability to read and follow Tech Manual instructions.
• Ability to read and utilize technical documentation (diagrams, schematics, etc.).
• Maintenance, operations and installation experience.
• Ability to perform mechanical and electrical requirements.
• Ability to use power, hand tools and test equipment and supervise/mentor junior personnel.
• Ability to lead a team in performing tasks.
• Ability to conduct material kitting, staging, assembly, packaging, loading, shipping and receiving material.
• Ability to inventory and control piece parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies and tools.
• Ability to support extensive field work assignments.
• Ability to support installations of shipboard systems/equipment.
• Ability to follow shipboard tagout lockout procedures.
• Ability to take responsibility for action items assigned, complete the actions and provide status reports.
• Ability to complete required training and obtain an OSHA course prior to travel.
• Ability to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when entering a shipyard or boarding a ship.
• Ability to receive and maintain a security clearance.
• Ability to follow company policies and procedures.
• Ability to write, speak and present clear, detailed technical monthly reports.
• Ability to complete timecard on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Travel extensively to shipboard locations for field assignments.
• Perform mechanical and electrical tasking on ECWS and related systems.
• Lead and mentor junior personnel on site.
• Conduct material kitting, staging, assembly, loading and shipping activities.
• Create and present detailed monthly technical reports.
• Obtain OSHA certification before travel and maintain required training.
• Maintain security clearance and follow PPE safety protocols.
• Oversee installations of shipboard systems and equipment and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
• Ensure accurate timekeeping and compliance with company policies.

Role and Responsibilities:

Full-time Senior Field Engineer position supporting the AEGIS Electronic Cooling Water Systems (ECWS). The Associate Field Engineer position requires extensive shipboard travel and duties that include performing a chelate flush of the AN/SPY-1 Radar System and operations and maintenance control of the DDGs and CGs in the fleets.

Duties:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field and 7 - 9 years of experience or no degree and 11 - 13 years of applicable experience.
• Must have extensive knowledge and experience in mechanical and electrical tasking.
• Must have solid experience with reading and following Tech Manual instructions.
• Must be able to read and utilize technical documentation (diagrams, schematics, etc.).
• Must have maintenance, operations and installation experience.
• Must be able to perform mechanical and electrical requirements.
• Must be able to use power, hand tools and test equipment and supervise/mentor junior personnel.
• Must be able to lead a team in performing tasks.

• Must be able to climb shipboard ladders.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
