Job summary

AdvantEdge Technology, Inc. is seeking a Full-time Senior Field Engineer to support AEGIS ECWS on fleet vessels. The role requires extensive shipboard travel and hands-on mechanical and electrical tasks, including chelate flushes of the AN/SPY-1 radar system and shipboard system installations.

Candidates must read technical manuals, lead teams, and manage materials with safety compliance. Expect 50–75% travel, PPE usage, and ability to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree 7–9 years of experience, or no degree with 11–13 years of applicable experience.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical tasking.
• Experience reading and following technical manuals.
• Ability to read and utilize technical documentation (diagrams, schematics, etc.).
• Maintenance, operations and installation experience.
• Ability to perform mechanical and electrical requirements.
• Experience using power/hand tools and test equipment, and supervising junior staff.
• Ability to lead a team in performing tasks.
• Material kitting, staging, assembly, packaging, loading, shipping and receiving materials.
• Inventory and control of parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies and tools.
• Extensive field work assignments and shipboard system installations.
• Adherence to shipboard lockout/tagout procedures.
• Taking responsibility for action items and reporting status.
• Completion of required training and OSHA course prior to travel.
• Wearing proper PPE in shipyards or on ships.
• Ability to receive and maintain security clearance.
• Compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Ability to write, speak and present clear, detailed monthly reports.
• Ability to complete timecards daily.

Full-time Senior Field Engineer position supporting the AEGIS Electronic Cooling Water Systems (ECWS). The Associate Field Engineer position requires extensive shipboard travel and duties that include performing a chelate flush of the AN/SPY-1 Radar System and operations and maintenance control of the DDGs and CGs in the fleets.

Duties

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field and 7 - 9 years of experience or no degree and 11 - 13 years of applicable experience.
• Must have extensive knowledge and experience in mechanical and electrical tasking.
• Must have solid experience with reading and following Tech Manual instructions.
• Must be able to read and utilize technical documentation (diagrams, schematics, etc.).
• Must have maintenance, operations and installation experience.
• Must be able to perform mechanical and electrical requirements.
• Must be able to use power, hand tools and test equipment and supervise/mentor junior personnel.
• Must be able to lead a team in performing tasks.
• Must be able to conduct material kitting, staging, assembly, packaging, loading, shipping and receiving material.
• Must be able to inventory and control piece parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies and tools.
• Must be able to support extensive field work assignments.
• Must be able to support installations of shipboard systems/equipment.
• Must be able to follow the shipboard tagout lockout procedures.
• Must be able to take responsibility for action items assigned, complete the actions and provide status reports.
• Must be able to complete required training and obtain an OSHA course prior to travel.
• Must be able wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when entering a shipyard or boarding a ship.
• Must be able to receive and maintain a security clearance.
• Must be able to follow company policies and procedures.
• Must be able to write, speak and present clear, detailed technical monthly reports.
• Must be able to complete timecard on a daily basis.

Prefered Skills

• Navy A / C School (FC)
• Experience with Navy Field/Shipboard maintenance/installation work.

Physical Requirements

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to meet extensive (50 - 75%) travel requirements.
• Must be able to climb shipboard ladders.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
