Somerville Public Schools is looking for an Extended Learning Program Tutor who will work with students individually or in small groups to provide academic support. This role is vital for students excluded from school or at risk of dropping out, aiding their progress towards a high school diploma.
The tutor will coordinate learning and track progress together with the Program Coordinator and teachers, providing crucial support. Compensation is $30 per hour and the position is seasonal from July 2026 to June 2027.
Extended Learning Program Tutor works with students individually or in small groups to provide academic support for the blended learning program that serves Somerville students; these are students who are currently excluded from school or are at high risk of dropping out. The Extended Learning Tutor is expected to coordinate learning and track progress of students under the guidance of a Program Coordinator and the Extended Learning Teachers. The Extended Learning Tutor will support students’ continued progress toward attainment of a high school diploma.
