Job summary

Boar’s Head Brand in Sarasota, FL seeks a Local Purveyor in Training to learn all aspects of a local distribution network for our premium meats and cheeses.

You will progress through operations, warehousing, ordering, merchandising, selling and cultivating relationships with retail customers, with the goal of preparing for a future Local Purveyor role.

Qualifications

• Leadership and management experience required.
• Proactive and proven leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Placing the warehouse order weekly.
• Managing all warehouse personnel.
• Receiving trailers and processing associated paperwork.
• Proper rotation of all inventory in the warehouse and on the truck.
• Loading all trucks and insuring proper overnight plug-ins.
• Manage all short-coded product.
• Involved in all weekly inventories (including POS materials) and monthly weighted inventories.
• Maintaining the warehouse, equipment, and trucks.
• Familiarity with products; identification, case counts, other product knowledge.
• End of Day settlement procedures, sales, inventory, credit, cash, etc.
• Training Deli Sales Associates behind the counter.
• Merchandising and demonstrating product
• Supporting company initiatives (e.g. promotions, new item launches).
• Delivering all aspects of Grand Opening requirements as identified in the GO handbook.
• Attending classes, lectures, and seminars for further training as deemed necessary.

The Company Local Purveyor in Training will be responsible for learning and assisting in all aspects of a local distribution network for the Boar’s Head Brand. This individual will progress through various aspects of being a local purveyor including: operations, warehousing, ordering, merchandising, selling and cultivating relationships with retail customers. The goal would be to prepare this individual for an opportunity to potentially become a Local Purveyor in the future.

Requirements

• 4 year degree or equivalent experience required.
• 3+ years of management experience.
• Proven leadership skills within an organization or business unit
• Some OT, weekend and holiday work required.
• May be required to obtain CDL for delivery purposes.
• 3-5 years food or distribution experience
• Relocation flexibility is a plus
