Job summary

Boar's Head Brand is seeking a Retail Service Associate to support in-field Retail Service Programs and supervise consumer-facing activities on the route. You will work with staff to ensure compliance with standards and collaborate with the Local Purveyor on store validations, openings and new account development.

You will help develop forward-facing consumer programs, establish best-in-class service standards and drive retail performance excellence across assigned stores.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Boar's Head products, including flavor, nutrition and complementary items (training provided).
• Willingness to engage customers and actively promote the Boar's Head Brand.
• Willingness to operate a slicer (training provided).
• Willingness to maintain close interaction with consumers.
• Ability to transport and set up folding tables and utensils.

Responsibilities

• Provide behind-the-counter training for deli staff with focus on customer service, product knowledge and slicing techniques.
• Develop and cultivate relationships at store level with store and deli managers and staff.
• Manage individual store inventory to optimize sales and minimize shrink.
• Monitor store performance to ensure program compliance at store/retail level.
• Promote Boar's Head Brand products through consumer education on flavor, nutrition and pairing options.
• Promote a selling culture in the deli and mentor staff to deliver excellent service.
• Manage comparative sales to grow the Brand at each store.
• Update merchandising and marketing materials as needed.
• Set service cases to display full product lines.
• Keep displays stocked, clean, and properly priced.
• Assist Local Purveyor with new accounts development and setup.
• Perform other duties to support route effectiveness.

The Retail Service Associate is responsible for assisting with the proper execution of all in-field Retail Service Programs along with the supervision of the Route's Consumer-Facing Activities. This role will help to ensure and maintain compliance related standards while working directly with staff members who support and execute those functions. The Retail Services Associate will work closely with the Local Purveyor on store validations, store openings, new account development and retail program excellence. This role will assist with the development of forward concept consumer facing programs, best in class service standards and retail performance excellence.

• Build awareness of the Boar's Head Brand premium product portfolio by engaging consumers through product sampling.
• Cultivate a selling culture within the deli, mentoring deli associates to remain passionate about providing exceptional customer service.
• Actively promote Boar's Head Brand products by educating consumers on flavor, nutrition information, quality and complementary products.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred
• Three (3) to Five (5) years’ related experience
• Experience with food preparation helpful
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
