Job summary

Boar’s Head Brand is seeking a Route Driver to develop new customer relationships while delivering to existing accounts. You will support warehouse operations, in-store activities, and cross-merchandising opportunities, with a flexible schedule including some weekend work.

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be fluent in English, and have a clean driving record. Prior brand associate or customer service experience is preferred, and ServSafe/Deli training may be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, including basic math and reasoning.
• Ability to speak and read English.
• 1+ years of experience as a Brand Associate or three years of experience in customer service, sales, warehouse, or similar role.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Basic computer skills.
• Proven mastery of Brand Associate essential functions and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver perishable goods to customers and maintain service levels.
• Itemized check-in of delivered goods with customer representatives.
• Complete bi-weekly customer inventory and bi-weekly orders.
• Manage credits, memos, and customer credits as needed.
• Perform merchandising resets and suggest cross-merchandising opportunities.
• Provide 1-on-1 training to customer employees on service, product knowledge, and slicing techniques.
• Complete Go-Spot-Check missions as assigned.
• Monitor truck maintenance and coordinate needed service.
• Cultivate relationships with deli management to address needs and opportunities.
• Support additional activities or special projects as required.

Job Description

The Route Driver plays a key role in developing new customer relationships while maintaining service levels with the existing customer base and is responsible for customer deliveries, warehouse operations, and in-store activities for our retail and food service customers. We are looking for individuals with a passion for providing excellent customer service and who excel working both independently and as a member of a team. This role requires a flexible schedule with occasional weekend work.

Essential Functions

• Itemized check-in of delivered goods with a customer representative
• Complete bi-weekly customer inventory
• Create bi-weekly orders based on established inventory levels
• Pull credits, create out-of-date memos, and issue customer credits
• Complete merchandising resets and recommend opportunities for cross-merchandising
• Complete 1-on-1 training with customer employees, including exceptional customer service, product knowledge, product pairings, slicing technique, etc.
• Complete assigned Go-Spot-Check missions
• Delivery of perishable goods to customers
• Monitor truck maintenance schedule and coordinate necessary maintenance
• Continuously cultivate relationships with customers by actively engaging with deli management and personnel to understand their customer base, evolving product or training needs, and specific opportunities/challenges
• Complete additional activities or special projects as assigned

Physical Requirements
