Job summary

Reflexive Concepts, LLC is seeking two Watch Desk Engineers to monitor and maintain mission systems around the clock. The team will handle system health, data pipelines, and incident recovery while maintaining logs, SOPs, and performance reports.

The roles require deep SE expertise, DoD-aligned documentation, and the ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts in a Central time zone. Candidates should have Security+ and strong Linux skills.

Qualifications

• Twenty years of SE experience in programs/contracts of similar scope and complexity.
• Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within six months).
• Linux and command-line proficiency.
• Hardware, software, network, and data-flow troubleshooting.
• Clear communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to follow and maintain SOPs, prioritize incidents, and work independently in a 24x7 environment.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Rancher, Elasticsearch, Redis, NiFi, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and virtualization.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Demonstrated experience planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour day or night shifts (Central time zone).

Responsibilities

• Monitor system health, availability, performance, and data pipelines.
• Investigate alerts and incidents and perform recovery actions.
• Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate teams.
• Maintain tickets, shift logs, SOPs, metrics, and reports.
• Provide concise status updates and shift handoffs.
• Develop and review system engineering documentation (SEPs, ICDs, requirements).
• Elicit, derive, and manage system requirements with traceability.
• Define interfaces and capture in shared repository.
• Develop architectures using DoDAF and SOA; conduct trade studies.
• Coordinate system integration and verification activities across teams.
• Assess and mitigate program risks, including EVM data.
• Manage configuration and baseline; participate in CCB and IPTs.
• Support DoD Certification & Accreditation and IA requirements.
• Perform quantitative analysis of non-functional performance and use models/prototyping to reduce risk.
• Provide technical direction for development, integration, and testing; review WBS and IMP.
