Job summary

Welch's is seeking a Production Supervisor at its Lawton, MI facility to lead a team on the manufacturing floor, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. You will manage daily production schedules, address issues in real time, and develop team members while maintaining sanitation and food safety standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration with Maintenance, Quality, Sanitation, and other plant teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in food and beverage manufacturing.
• Experience leading or supervising employees in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop production employees to achieve daily safety, quality, service, and productivity goals.
• Own day-to-day execution of the production schedule and address issues impacting performance.
• Monitor production lines, equipment, and processes for safe, reliable operation.
• Track production results and downtime to identify opportunities to improve line performance and reduce losses.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinate repairs, and minimize disruptions.
• Maintain high standards for sanitation, housekeeping, and food safety.
• Lead safety expectations within your area and address risks proactively.
• Coordinate with Maintenance and other plant teams to keep production running smoothly.
• Train, coach, and develop employees with clear expectations and timely feedback.
• Lead team meetings focused on safety, training, performance, and problem-solving.
• Ensure production supplies and ingredients are available to support schedules.
• Oversee packaging rework and ensure quality requirements are maintained.
• Support employee relations and applicable contractual requirements within the department.
• Evaluate probationary and temporary employees and provide feedback on performance and development.
• Help create a high-performance manufacturing culture built around teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and respect.
