Job summary

Octopi Brewing seeks a Packaging Line Manager in Madison, WI to lead a 24-hour packaging operation, owning safety, quality, efficiency, and team development across all shifts. The role reports to the Director of Packaging and collaborates with Brewing, Lab, Maintenance, Warehouse, and QA to keep packaging lines running smoothly.

Requires at least 2 years in a manufacturing management role, strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a managerial role within manufacturing operations.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a 24-hour packaging team, coaching, training, and accountability for safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Plan and oversee daily packaging operations, keeping production aligned with schedules and specs.
• Diagnose equipment issues and coordinate maintenance to keep lines running reliably.
• Own root cause analysis and data-driven process improvement across packaging lines.
• Build and maintain training systems, SOPs, and competency tracking across all roles and shifts.
• Ensure GMP, GDP, OSHA, and safety compliance through regular inspections and audits.
• Partner with QA on product specs and quality, and represent Packaging in cross-departmental planning.
