Job summary
Capgemini is seeking an on-call Network Specialist to troubleshoot and resolve high-priority production network issues in Salt Lake City. The role requires hands-on experience with routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, OSPF) and network device configuration, along with packet capture analysis to drive resolutions.
The engineer will analyze L3 private MPLS networks, coordinate with datacenter teams, and monitor SNMP-based systems (EMC SMARTS) to maintain 24/7 stability.
Qualifications
- Proficient in core networking protocols and routing/switching concepts.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-call support for network troubleshooting on high-priority/production-impacting issues.
- Troubleshoot and configure network devices with BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, OSPF; perform traffic discovery and drive to resolution.
- Analyze and troubleshoot L3 private IP MPLS carrier network via BGP peering and WAN topology including QoS policies.
- Troubleshoot network systems including routers, switches, firewalls, APs, load balancers and proxies.
- Work with Datacenter technicians to fix hardware issues and perform live troubleshooting with vendors.
- Monitor alerts and coordinate incident response to ensure proper resolution of tickets.
- Experience with SNMP monitoring tools such as EMC SMARTS.
