Job summary

Amador County seeks a Crisis Services Counselor to provide 24/7 crisis intervention and mobile crisis services in county settings, including jail and hospital ER environments. Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, counseling, nursing, or related human services field.
• Registration by the California BBS as AMFT/ACSW or APCC as applicable.
• Experience in crisis intervention in a human services setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs triage to assign crisis intervention priorities and provide crisis counseling, including mobile crisis intervention.
• Interviews client’s immediate family or caretakers for background and care planning.
• Enlists cooperation of first responders, ER staff and law enforcement to support client and family.
• Evaluates suicide risk and psychiatric status to develop a care plan.
• Develops and implements short-term care plans for immediate safety and appropriate level of care.
• Documents crisis interventions and communicates with Behavioral Health leadership; attends monthly staff meetings.
• Provides clinical supervision to unlicensed staff and may oversee training of new direct service staff.
