Job summary

Amador County in California is seeking a Crisis Services Counselor I/II to provide crisis intervention services for the 24-Hour Crisis Services Program. Qualifications

  • Crisis intervention principles and procedures.
  • Psychosocial features of mental illness and substance use disorders.
  • Protocols for suicide assessment and psychosocial dysfunction.
  • Therapeutic treatment methods in behavioral health.
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and local laws for detainment and services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention counseling and triage.
  • Interview client and family to gather precipitating information.
  • Coordinate with first responders, ER staff, and law enforcement.
  • Evaluate suicide potential and develop a short-term safety plan.
  • Document crisis interventions promptly and accurately.
  • Arrange referrals to appropriate providers and services.
