Job summary

Amador County is seeking a Crisis Services Counselor to provide 24/7 crisis intervention, triage, and mobile crisis services in partnership with the Behavioral Health Department. The role requires advanced clinical skills, strong documentation, and collaboration with first responders and hospital staff.

Job levels include Crisis Services Counselor I/II with requirements for Master's degree and California BBS licensure.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related behavioral health field.
• Registration by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as AMFT/ACSW/APCC or LMFT/LCSW/LPCC.
• Three years of crisis intervention experience for Level II preferred.
• Ability to supervise unlicensed staff and provide training.

Responsibilities

• Perform crisis triage and interventions, including mobile crisis.
• Interview client and family for background and care planning.
• Coordinate with first responders, ER staff, and law enforcement.
• Evaluate suicide risk and develop short-term safety plans.
• Document crisis interventions and maintain records daily.
• Provide clinical supervision and training for Level II staff.
