Job summary

Pilkington North America Inc. in Shelbyville, IN, seeks a full-time Shift Supervisor to lead daily production on the plant floor across all shifts, including off-shift, weekends and holidays for a 24/7 operation.

This role emphasizes safety, quality and teamwork, requiring strong communication, problem-solving and scheduling skills; you will coach crews, audit time records, ensure 5S adherence and standard work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent technical experience is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to facilitate groups in an employee involvement environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office, specifically MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Excellent writing skills for reports, presentations, policies, procedures, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily decision-making, feedback and support of shift.
• Check inventories and schedule; plan and communicate production needs and ensure proper pass-down.
• Escalate issues to leadership when necessary.
• Collaborate with Supervisors, Managers and PIs to identify and resolve barriers.
• Assist and monitor process changes; coach and audit teams on procedures.
• Work with managers and PIs to maintain operator assessments.
• Develop and ensure standardized processes amongst shift teams.
• Identify and manage roadblocks and daily actions.
• Oversee SWAT, SOP adherence, SOP audits and KSB adherence by supervisors.
