Job summary

Catapult Employers Association is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Maintenance Technician in New London, NC to support equipment reliability and production operations in a fast-paced environment. You will maintain automated production equipment, minimize downtime, and ensure safe operation of the facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree, trade school training, or maintenance certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, plastics, extrusion, chemical, or processing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working with automated machinery and computerized production equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, drives, conveyors, and industrial controls.
• Ability to interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems preferred.
• Basic PLC troubleshooting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and production systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions to minimize downtime.
• Inspect machinery and equipment to identify wear, damage, or potential failures.
• Repair and replace motors, bearings, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, sensors, valves, and other industrial components.
• Assist with machine installations, upgrades, and process improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and repair documentation.
• Support root cause analysis efforts and recommend corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures.
• Collaborate with production personnel to optimize equipment performance and production efficiency.
• Maintain housekeeping standards within maintenance work areas.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, throughput, and cost reduction.
