Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory is seeking an Infrastructure Operations Center Systems Administrator to join the Enterprise Operations Team. The role supports 24/7 monitoring of critical systems, with shiftwork to maintain round-the-clock coverage and a focus on uptime, automation, and security.

Qualifications

• AS degree in information technology or related technical subject with at least 5 years of experience.
• Experience with PowerShell and scripting.
• Experience with backup architecture and operations.
• Experience with SCCM and server patching.
• Experience managing a virtualized environment on Windows and Linux.
• Strong understanding of networking and troubleshooting.
• Experience with enterprise backup solutions.

Responsibilities

• Document team processes and maintain a living knowledge base.
• Monitor infrastructure equipment and servers for uptime and performance.
• Assist in backup administration and restore requests.
• Assist in enterprise server patching and vulnerability management.
• Collaborate with engineers and vendors to troubleshoot hardware/software.
• Provide off-hours support and escalation.
• Automate workflows and develop self-healing solutions.
• Install and configure software, both commercial and open-source.
• Support data storage systems and backup services.
