Job summary

The University of New Haven in West Haven, CT, is seeking a Facilities Manager Shift Operation to oversee campus HVAC, Building Management System, and utility services across 24/7 operations. The role leads shift staff, coordinates contractors, and ensures safe, reliable, energy-efficient building performance for academic and administrative facilities.

• Ability to read blueprints and drawings (piping, mechanical, electrical).
• Must work independently and with others.
• Detail-oriented with strong time management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Building Management System (BMS) and remote locations.
• Respond to off-design alarms and take corrective actions.
• Direct service calls and on-call staff during off-hours.
• Oversee and coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of HVAC and related systems.
• Manage work orders and ensure timely completion.
• Provide HVAC/building systems expertise for renovations and new projects.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and energy-efficient operation campus-wide.
