Job summary
AbbVie in New Jersey seeks an experienced Equipment Maintenance Technician to manage preventive and demand maintenance, troubleshoot PLC-driven equipment, and support facility reliability. You will calibrate instruments, document actions in CMMS, and contribute to GMP/PSM compliance while ensuring safe, compliant operations.
The role requires hands-on skills across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and process equipment, with a focus on reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Must have a strong background in maintenance, troubleshooting and repair across electrical, plumbing and process equipment.
- Experience with GMP/PSM compliance and good documentation practices is preferred.
- Proficiency in field instrumentation calibration and PLC-controlled systems is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform or arrange preventive and demand maintenance on electrical, plumbing, and process equipment.
- Support predictive maintenance activities and reliability programs at the site.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment to minimize downtime.
- Document work in CMMS (e.g., Maximo) including failure codes and parts usage.
- Attend training and perform maintenance-related sessions as required.
- Assist in process safety and environmental, health, and safety procedures.
