Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician in New Jersey to perform preventive and demand maintenance, troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, calibrate instrumentation, and support GMP/PSM compliant operations around the clock.

Responsibilities include documenting work in CMMS, participating in reliability programs, and providing emergency maintenance support. A strong background in electrical, plumbing, and process equipment is required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma with 10+ years of experience or relevant certificate with 5+ years experience or Associates technical degree with 3+ years experience.
• Knowledge and ability to use advanced tools (i.e. machine tools, diagnostic tools, predictive tools).
• Intermediate computer skills (MS Windows).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and demand maintenance on a wide variety of equipment, including electrical, plumbing, and process equipment.
• Supports reliability-centered maintenance programs by performing predictive maintenance activities such as vibration analysis, oil/lubricant analysis, ultrasonic testing, infrared mapping, etc.
• Maintain GMP/PSM compliance in activities and documentation.
• Provide maintenance support for investigations, failure analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Follow EHS procedures and participate in safety improvements.
• Attend required training and conduct maintenance-related training sessions.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment to minimize downtime.
• Calibrate and verify field instrumentation.
• Document work in CMMS (Maximo) with failure codes and parts usage.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests on off-shifts.
