Job summary

Stanford University’s Energy Operations is seeking an Operations Shift Supervisor to lead a 24/7 multi-shift team responsible for the safe, reliable operation of the campus energy infrastructure. The role includes supervising staff, coordinating daily activities, and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards.

The ideal candidate will have operations experience in a district energy or power generation setting and a track record of developing and enforcing procedures to maintain

Qualifications

• Experience operating at a district energy system or power generation facility.
• Experience writing operations procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operates and monitors facilities from the Central Energy Facility control room.
• Supervises shift operations to ensure safe, reliable and efficient plant performance.
• Oversees implementation of optimization and control systems (e.g., Open Blue, Aveva).
• Coordinates daily staff activities, scheduling and performance evaluations.
• Tracks area budget and provides time and workforce estimates to management.
• Implements safety programs, Lock Out/Tag Out, and energy control procedures.
• Prepares work permits and Job Safety Analyses; responsible for safety reviews.
• Provides relief for vacancies and supports continuous improvement.
