Job summary

County Emergency Communications in Fort Moore, GA seeks an Emergency Medical Dispatcher to handle urgent calls, gather details, and coordinate EMS resources.

You will follow approved protocols, may provide pre-arrival instructions, and work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends, in a mission-critical environment.

A high school diploma is required; CPR certification is helpful; formal EMS dispatcher certification may be required by the hiring agency.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or recognized equivalent is commonly required.
• CPR certification and additional coursework may be required.
• EMT or paramedic credentials are not universal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies
• Confirm the patient’s location, callback number, and access details
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition
• Determine response priority through the authorized medical dispatch system
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when included in the assignment
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities
