Job summary

Switch is seeking a Mission Control Technician I to monitor and coordinate mission-critical infrastructure in a 24/7 data-center environment. You will respond to alerts, escalate where needed, and document actions precisely to protect uptime and customer trust.

You’ll work across power, cooling, security, and network systems, collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and carriers. A strong foundation in IT ops and network theory, plus certifications, is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in IT operations or similar tech support.
• Experience monitoring systems and investigating alerts.
• Foundational understanding of network topologies and the OSI model.
• Experience with ticketing and monitoring tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 operations environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor critical infrastructure including power, cooling, security, and network.
• Be primary contact for alerts and incident investigations.
• Interpret alarms and initiate remediation.
• Create, update, and close incident tickets with timelines.
• Coordinate with teams, vendors, and carriers to resolve incidents.
• Produce incident summaries and post-event reports.
• Provide timely support to customers during incidents.
• Follow escalation and communication procedures.
• Work scheduled shifts, including nights and weekends.
