Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is hiring a Data Center Operations Technician to support the operation of AWS data centers in the Ashburn, VA area.

You will join a team responsible for continuous monitoring of critical infrastructure and rapid response to equipment events. The role requires handling electrical and mechanical systems, working within safety procedures, and participating in rotating shift schedules with on-site presence.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of practical experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and/or fire suppression systems.
• Ability to bend, twist, climb, and work on ladders in construction environments.
• Willingness to work extended shifts and overtime as required by site operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily rounds monitoring electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor BMS and EPMS systems to ensure 24/7 reliability.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLA.
• Install and decommission racks within SLA.
• PM, troubleshoot, root-cause analysis, and repair electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Create technical documentation for change management.
