University of Utah Health seeks a Crisis Worker to staff the Utah Statewide CrisisLine, assessing individuals in crisis by phone or text and coordinating crisis stabilization and referrals. The role requires sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and strong communication skills.

You will perform screening/triage, provide psychosocial support, and collaborate with local mental health authorities statewide, supporting a 24/7 dispatch for Mobile Crisis Outreach Teams across Utah.

Qualificações

• Must be eligible to apply for State Crisis Worker Certification within 1 year.
• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field required.
• Preferred certifications: Peer Support Specialist, Case Manager, or Family Resource Facilitator.

Responsabilidades

• Actively engage callers and establish a non-judgmental relationship.
• Ask probing questions to understand problems and risk.
• Assess life-threatening situations and determine medically necessary services.
• Coordinate with local resources for crisis stabilization.
• Document essential notes within the same shift for continuity.
• Use consultative process to know who to call and when.
