Job summary

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is seeking an Airport Operations Duty Manager to oversee the safe, efficient, and secure operation of the DCA/IAD airport complex. This role is located at Ronald Reagan National Airport or Washington Dulles International Airport and requires a strong focus on incident response and coordination with stakeholders.

Candidates should have six years of operations experience, a Bachelor's degree, and knowledge of FAA certification and security programs.

Qualifications

• Six years of progressively responsible experience in airport or airline operations at a 14 CFR Part 139 airport or military air base operations.
• Knowledge of FAA airport certification and security programs; ability to interpret regulatory requirements.
• Ability to speak and write effectively, including communicating sensitive information in emergencies.
• Ability to analyze complex situations and develop response plans.
• Ability to use computer systems for security access and weather monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Maintain awareness of conditions and ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Inspect airport facilities and runways, reporting discrepancies for action.
• Coordinate containment and response during emergencies; issue NOTAMs as needed.
• Direct contingencies and coordinate with TSA, airlines, tenants, and authorities.
• Manage Airport Operations 24-hour Command Center and weather/utility monitoring.
