Aviation Authority-Tampa International Airport is seeking a Dispatcher II for the Airport Operations Center to manage calls, relay information, and coordinate responders 24/7. The role requires handling sensitive information discreetly and supporting multiple systems including CAD, CCTV, and alarms.

The position emphasizes flexible rotating shifts, emergency call-in availability, and dependable attendance to ensure continuous airport operations and safety across facilities and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years’ experience in a Public Safety or Operations dispatch center or related field.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Monitors airport audio and video communication systems via multiple resources.
• Receives incoming calls for assistance, make inquiries to solicit relevant information, and assess information to determine the nature and urgency of calls for assistance.
• Receives emergency and non-emergency calls from the Air Traffic Controllers in the Tower reporting aircraft and/or airfield incidents.
• Enters airport operations related information into the CAD system and redirects calls to specific or alternate responding agencies or departments.
• Dispatches emergency response personnel using digital and analog voice communications equipment.
• Initiates callbacks to obtain or provide additional information.
• Operates various computer systems and programs, including aviation-specific systems, airport facility systems and equipment, security alarm systems, and CCTV systems.
• Activates the emergency notification system to notify tenants and authorities of emergencies, weather, and other operational impacts.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required as an essential function of the position.
