Spokane International is seeking a Dispatcher I/II to provide a single access point for emergency personnel and the public, coordinating Police, Fire, EMS, and airport operations. Responsibilities include monitoring pagers/radios, handling 911 calls, and reporting incidents.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years in a dispatch center, and Telecommunicator 1 certification. This is a 24/7 position with extensive communications duties and safety responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Three years’ experience in a dispatch or communications center.
  • State Certification as Telecommunicator 1 required; Telecommunicator 2 preferred.
  • Able to read and write English; strong verbal communication; proficient with office equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and prioritize responses to 911, aircraft emergency, paging, and information calls.
  • Dispatch Police, Fire, Medical, and Operations to calls for assistance; transfer to appropriate department.
  • Serve as communication coordinator during Police, Fire, EMS, and Operations incidents.
  • Monitor pagers and radios and announce information related to incidents.
  • Provide telephone answering support to Airport Administration.
  • Provide non-law enforcement services including processing lost and found items, badges, keys, fingerprinting.
  • Assist Airport users with paging services, flight information and related services.
  • Act as after-hours point of contact for vendors and deliveries.
  • Prepare reports and maintain activity records in filing systems.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras, TSA alarms, CCAS alarms and building fire alarms.
  • Work shifts 24/7; odd hours, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
