Candidates should have a high school diploma, experience in 9-1-1 call handling, and proficiency with MS Office; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. The role requires rotating shifts, 24/7 coverage, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
• One year of 9-1-1 call handling or emergency dispatch experience.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings or overnight.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish may be required depending on position.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming calls in the 24x7 Emergency Call Relay Center from citizens for emergency and non-emergency issues.
• Obtain information from callers and determine type of action to achieve successful problem resolution.
• Record citizen information into the computer database ensuring 100% accuracy.
• Employ GIS to relay calls for service to the appropriate government jurisdiction.
• Notify staff of problems via telephone and paging systems.
• Establish good working relationships with team members to improve service levels.
• Escalate issues to supervisors when outside control to ensure timely and respectful responses.
• Other duties as assigned.
