Job summary

BAMSI is seeking a Residential Counselor MAP in Canton/Dedham, MA. You will provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments, helping with daily living, community integration, and trauma‑informed care.

Requirements include MAP certification, a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and strong English communication. Shift is overnight (11pm–9am) and offers extensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; mental health experience preferred.
• MAP certification required; obtain within 3 months if not current.
• Valid driver’s license and mobility assistance ability.
• Strong communication skills in English and basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion and trauma‑informed care.

Responsibilities

• Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills.
• Implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.

What You Bring:

• High school diploma/GED; mental health experience preferred.
• MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification is required for this position. Candidates without current certification must be willing to complete employer-provided training and successfully obtain certification within 3 months
• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.).
• Strong communication skills (English) and basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion, patience, and a commitment to trauma-informed care.
• Bonus: Lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).
