Job summary

21st Century Coordinator Grandview Elementary-Community Services YMCA (Education)

Key Responsibilities

  • Administers the day-to-day operation of assigned site, ensuring the program meets all state, local, and YMCA regulations and standards; ensures complete compliance with 21st CCLC Grant.
  • Works with assigned school partner to ensure that all aspects of the program are developmentally appropriate and meet the individual physical, social, emotional, and academic needs of the participants.
  • Must possess and demonstrate ability to engage in all activities associated with the scheduled program.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates site staff and volunteers with the help of the Sr. Program Director & Data Support Specialist.
  • With the help of the school partner, Sr. Program Director and Data Support Specialist, provides ongoing program evaluation and progress monitoring regarding effectiveness of the program through data collection.
  • Plans and implements the center's purchasing in a responsible manner.
  • Ensures that Associations Child Protection policies, child abuse and neglect guidelines, and proper reporting procedures are always upheld.
  • Provides relevant support and intentional programming to all participants and families, in partnership with the assigned school partner, in an effort to grow the whole child through a wide community learning center.

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelors degree in Education or a related field preferred
  • Must complete and maintain current status in First Aid, Common Childhood Illnesses, Child Abuse Prevention and CPR.
  • Must possess oral, auditory and written communication skills appropriate for interacting with both children and adults.
  • Must possess ability to make sound decisions based on data and the assessed need of program participants.
  • Must be capable of directing the daily administrative, program related, and supervisory responsibilities of a school-age education program.
  • Must possess and demonstrate ability to engage in all activities associated with the daily care, activities, and routines of the programs children including but not limited to: interacting with children at floor level, physical education activities such as running, jumping, etc., lifting children and or equipment, and participating in outdoor activities, field trips and swimming as needed.
