Job summary

Northrop Grumman invites motivated students to join its Mission Systems internship program at the McClellan, CA location. The role focuses on systems engineering for an internship period of 10 weeks during Summer 2027, with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a renowned defense contractor environment.

You’ll work with a team that designs and integrates secure, multi-domain systems and will be supported by training and networking opportunities.

Qualifications

• Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2027.
• Be majoring in computer engineering or a closely related degree.
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.
• Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
• The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Northrop Grumman is seeking Systems Engineers for an internship opportunity.

This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in McClellan, CA.

Basic Qualifications

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

• Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2027.
• Be majoring in computer engineering or a closely related degree.
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.
• Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
• The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
• Signal Processing

Intern Pay Range:

• Bachelor’s: $21.50 to $39.00 per hour
• Master’s: $30.50 to $48.00 per hour

At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
