Job summary

General Dynamics Bath Iron Works is offering a summer internship for students pursuing BS or MS in Engineering or related disciplines. The role supports the Planning Yard in delivering design, material and logistics products for the US Navy, within budget and by the commitment date.

Pay ranges from $18 to $29 per hour. Start date is May 17, 2027 and ends August 6, 2027. Ideal candidates have strong communication, planful thinking, teamwork, and proficiency with MS Office.

Part of General Dynamics Marine Systems, Bath Iron Works is a full service shipyard specializing in the design, building and support of complex surface combatants for the U.S. Navy. Our summer internship program provides students with meaningful work experiences in their program of study and an increased awareness of our work environment.

Bath Iron Works is located on the coast of Maine in the city of Bath, 2.5 hours north of Boston, MA and 45 minutes from Maine's largest city, Portland. We are actively recruiting candidates pursuing degrees in the following areas

• Engineering or related disciplines.

The Planning Yard organization works to ensure the US Navy’s most technologically advanced destroyers remain mission ready through the delivery of high-quality design, material & logistics products within budget and by the commitment date. Planning Yard employees provide emergent support to fleet and deploying battle groups and support the Engineering and Design of ship alterations.

Pay range for this position is $18/hr. - $29/hr. The Summer internship program begins Monday, May 17, 2027 and ends on Friday, August 6, 2027.

• Must currently be enrolled in a BS or MS Academic Program within Engineering or related disciplines.
• Must be available to begin the Internship on Monday, May 17, 2027.
