Job summary

General Dynamics Bath Iron Works in Bath, ME, invites applications for the 2027 Summer Internship in the Planning Yard. The program runs May 17, 2027 to August 6, 2027, with pay ranging from $18 to $29 per hour.

Open to students pursuing BS/MS in Engineering or related fields; 2.5 hours north of Boston and 45 minutes from Portland, ME. Selected interns will work to ensure major US Navy destroyers remain mission-ready, delivering design, material and logistics support.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a BS or MS program in Engineering or related disciplines.
• Available to begin the internship on May 17, 2027.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Self-motivation and the ability to contribute as a team member.
• General computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite.
• Ability to organize, plan and execute projects.
• Research skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Must currently be enrolled in a BS or MS Academic Program within Engineering or related disciplines.
• Must be available to begin the Internship on Monday, May 17, 2027.
