Job summary

General Dynamics Bath Iron Works invites motivated students to join our Planning internship for Summer 2027 in Bath, ME. This hands-on program provides meaningful work in naval-architecture related planning activities and an introduction to our project momentum goals.

Interns will assist with budgets, work orders, and production control tasks while gaining exposure to our shipyard operations and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Must currently be enrolled in a BS or MS Academic Program with an Engineering or related discipline.
• Must be available to begin the Internship on Monday, May 17, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Support Planning department with on-time, on-budget deliverables.
• Assist with Budget and Control Account Plans and Work Order Packages.
• Help respond to Work Order Feedback and maintain Bill Change Requests (BCRs).
• Contribute to Production Control Staffing and Work Order Releasing.

Part of General Dynamics Marine Systems, Bath Iron Works is a full service shipyard specializing in the design, building and support of complex surface combatants for the U.S. Navy. Our summer internship program provides students with meaningful work experiences in their program of study and an increased awareness of our work environment.

Required/Preferred Education/Training

• Must currently be enrolled in a BS or MS Academic Program with an Engineering or related discipline.
• Must be available to begin the Internship on Monday, May 17, 2027.

Required/Preferred Experience

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Self-motivation and the ability to contribute as a team member.
