What You Will Do:

Pratt and Whitney Engine Design and Systems Integration (EDSI) is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern with interest in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), to support next-generation propulsion programs. The candidate will be responsible for the development of system models for one or more programs. Candidate will also be involved in Pratt & Whitney’s digital transformation initiatives and be a contributor to P&W EDSI standard work. This position provides the opportunity to be involved with cutting-edge digital engineering capabilities for advanced military and commercial propulsion programs. Candidate responsibilities will be commensurate with their background, experience, and education. Develop Systems Engineering Models in order to perform systems engineering tasks including: Deriving and analyzing requirements, defining system logical and physical architectures, defining interfaces, requirements analysis, defining system logical and physical architectures, defining interfaces, verification planning, and trade studies. Interface with engineering leads, team members, and other discipline teams and provide task progress updates. Participate in customer and/or internal technical reviews throughout the product lifecycle. Ensure consistent application of engineering best practices and comply with EDSI standard work.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or STEM major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher Fluent in English (verbal and written)

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Prior internship or co-op experience in the aerospace and defense industry
• Experience in systems engineering roles, or familiarity with systems engineering concepts
• Experience using a SysML or UML tool, such as IBM Rhapsody ®, Cameo/Magic Draw ®, or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A passion for learning about and pursuing a career in aviation and aerospace
• Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in responding to new business challenges

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
