Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is seeking an Analytics Intern within Service Intelligence & Analytics (SIA). You will collaborate with the Service Operations team to develop and explore projects impacting processes, systems, or services, delivering actionable insights and recommendations.

The internship focuses on building practical health-insurance domain knowledge while developing analytical and communication skills through real-world projects and leadership mentorship.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate or graduate student with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Enrolled in college/university or Master’s/PhD program for the duration of the internship.
• Effective verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing information and research materials to identify business problems and offer recommendations.
• Support leaders on projects designed to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain understanding of BCBSM business, products, and data.

Job description

Service Intelligence & Analytics (SIA) is a team within Service Operations who are responsible for advanced analytics in support of Customer Service, with a specific focus on customer and CSR experience as well as strategic business modeling. SIA works closely with the Service Avengers group, who are a group of leaders from various functional areas within Service Ops, whose charter is to discover opportunities for improvement in the member/provider experience, operational performance, and day-to-day CSR practices. This position will primarily be focused on working with SIA in the development (and potential implementation) of a project that will impact a process, system, function, product, and/or service after working closely with team members from throughout Service Operations to uncover opportunities.

As an intern, you will be:

• Accountable for using analytics to develop a project(s) with moderate to complex scope and deliverables. Project scope may impact one or more business unit/function and typically impacts one or more of the following: process, system, function, product and/or service.

QUALIFICATIONS
