## 2027 Summer Intern - Digital SculptingApply: Onsite: Warren, Michigan, United States of America: Pasadena, California, United States of America: Full time: Posted Today: JR-202619286**Job Description****The Role:**This internship exposes qualified candidates to creative careers at General Motors and helps identify talent for direct positions in creative digital sculpting at Design. The individual will gain an understanding of the aesthetic judgments, technology, production methods, program timelines, and materials used in automotive digital sculpting.The role also provides opportunities to collaborate on innovation challenges, interact with industry leaders, attend cross-functional networking events, and participate in community service activities.**The Team:**The intern will collaborate with GM Design, Sculpting, and Engineering teams to develop digital models of future automotive themes in a studio environment.**What You’ll Do:**• Work collaboratively with Design, Sculpting, and Engineering to interpret sketches and develop a digital model of a future automotive theme using established and emerging digital-sculpting best practices and techniques.• Present finished models to Design and Sculpting leadership at midterm and final show events.• Support general sculpting assignments within the studio environment.**Please note, you must submit a portfolio to be considered for this position – see instructions below.****Required Qualifications:**• Pursuit of a bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Animation, Game Design, Transportation Design, Fine Arts, Sculpture, or Ceramics.• Must be graduating between December 2027 and May 2029.• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the summer months.**Preferred Qualifications:**• Creative ability demonstrated through a supporting 3D portfolio.• Basic understanding of design and sculpting principles, including proportion, line, and surface.• 3D computer modeling or animation skills.• Experience with Alias, Maya, Rhino/Grasshopper, or Unigraphics/NX software.GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
