Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company is hosting an Operations Intern at our Kankakee, Illinois site. The role supports the Operations Manager with daily planning, safety programs, and production workflow within a manufacturing/distribution facility.

Internship runs May 30, 2027 through July 30, 2027. You will engage in continuous improvement projects and participate in the GSC early career development program, including workshops and networking opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a college or university during the internship or co-op program.
• Must have at least one year of work experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Job description

The Operations Intern is "hosted" by the Operations Department at one of our manufacturing/distribution facilities, or headquarters.

The identified candidate will start on May 30, 2027 and end July 30, 2027 at our Kankakee, Illinois site.

Position Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Operations Manager with:

• Assist with planning daily work scheduled
• Support site safety programs
• Work with the filling department as needed
• Understand inventory, routing, and shipping procedures

Minimum Requirement

• Must be enrolled in a college or university at the time of the internship or co-op program

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Operations, (e.g Industrial Management, Supply Chain, Engineering Technology, Logistics with concentration in related Operations field, etc).
• Have previous Sherwin-Williams Internship or Co-op experience
• Have previous experience working in a team-oriented setting including work experience, extracurricular activities, military service, etc.
• Be a rising or current junior or senior in college or university at the start of the internship program
