Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company in Rockford, Illinois is offering an HR internship hosted by the HR Department at one of our facilities or headquarters. The identified candidate will begin May 24, 2027 and finish July 30, 2027 at the Rockford site, supporting HR activities and gaining hands-on experience.

You will assist the HR Manager with records, postings, orientation, reporting, and engagement initiatives, while developing early-career skills through workshops and networking with the GSC

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a college or university at the time of the internship or co-op program.
• Must have at least one (1) year of work experience using Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Power Point.
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of personnel and/or training records.
• Provide assistance with job postings and maintaining applicant tracking records.
• Administration and coordination of new employee orientation programs.
• Responses to employee inquiries and questions while providing general administrative support to the HR team.
• Special projects as identified by the HR Manager.
• Help prepare reports, presentations and training materials.
• Support employee engagement initiatives, communications and HR projects.
• Support and participate in employee engagement initiatives and site events to promote a positive and workplace culture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Human Resources (e.g. Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Psychology with concentration in related HR field, etc).
• Have previous Sherwin-Williams Internship or Co-op experience
• Have previous experience working in a team-oriented setting including work experience, extracurricular activities, military service, etc.
• Be a rising or current junior or senior in college or university at the start of the internship program
