Job summary

Hickory Crawdads is seeking a Merchandise Assistant to support game-day operations and events. You will restock inventory, assist guests, and help create eye-catching displays while delivering a positive customer experience.

This seasonal position runs from March 2027 through September 2027, with potential training of temporary staff, POS support, and occasional mascot duties during community events.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Restock store and clean following games and events.
• Greet guests, answer questions, and assist in locating items.
• Supervise additional game day staff in retail and train as needed.
• Reset store displays in conjunction with supervisor.
• Stock and prepare kiosk locations and assist online orders.
• Ensure POS systems function daily and handle tickets when needed.
• Dressing up as the mascot for appearances at events.

Merchandise Assistant

Reports to: AGM, Marketing

Job Description

• Restock store and clean following games and events
• Deliver a positive and seamless experience to customers during office hours and games by greeting guests, answering questions, and offering assistance in locating the items
• Supervise additional game day staff in retail and help provide training as needed
• Reset store in conjunction with supervisor to create relevant and eye-catching displays
• Stock and prepare kiosk/satellite locations
• Conduct seasonal physical inventories
• Manage inventory, ensuring that numbers are accurate throughout the season
• Tag new items as they arrive and confirming that items are scanning and free of damage/stains
• Assist in fulfillment of online orders
• Ensure POS systems are all functional on a daily basis in conjunction with any sales, discounts, or changes made on the backend
• Help answering phones and selling in-person tickets as needed
• Other task and duties as assigned, including dressing up as the mascot, going on appearances and attending community events

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and customer service.
• Must be well organized and flexible to meet time, priority and workload demands.
• Must be able to lift, pull push and/or carry 30 pounds as necessary.
• Ability to stand, sit and walk for up to 6-8 hours.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Team player
