Job summary

United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) invites applications for a Legal and Compliance Summer Intern on its campus in Pontiac, MI. This 12-week program offers immersion, hands-on legal research, and exposure to senior leaders, with about 200 interns.

You will conduct regulatory research, assist in drafting policies, prepare materials for audits, and help organize documentation. If you're graduating in 2027 or 2028 and can work on-site May 17 through August 6, you're a fit.

Qualifications

• Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2027 or 2028 (current junior/senior status).
• Must be able to work Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week, on-site in Pontiac, MI from May 17 - August 6.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment.
• A strong work ethic and drive to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on various regulatory topics affecting UWM’s operations.
• Assist in the review and drafting of compliance-related documents, policies, and procedures.
• Support the legal team in preparing materials for compliance audits and internal meetings.
• Help maintain and organize legal and compliance documentation and databases.
• Assist in the monitoring and analysis of changes in laws and regulations relevant to the mortgage industry.

UWM's 12-week internship program offers an immersive experience with around 200 interns, job shadowing, access to senior leaders, and extensive networking opportunities. The Legal and Compliance Summer Intern will play a vital role in supporting the legal and compliance teams at UWM. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in legal research, compliance analysis, and regulatory matters within the mortgage sector.

What You Will Be Doing
