Job summary

RTX in Massachusetts is seeking a Software Engineer I to design, implement, and optimize real-time signal processing algorithms across CPUs, GPUs, and FPGAs on Linux. The role focuses on embedded software for radar systems and requires strong C/C++ skills and Linux experience.

You will collaborate with hardware, systems, and software engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. Relocation assistance is offered, and onsite work is expected in a U.S.-based role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) obtained prior to start.
  • C or C++ software development experience.
  • OOAD experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Realtime software development experience.
  • Experience with developer tools (Git, CMake, GoogleTest, gdb, profilers, Jenkins, UML).
  • Experience with scripting (Python, shell, bash).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum).
  • Experience with DPDK.
  • Experience with numerical libraries such as MKL, FFTW, BLAS, LAPACK, and ARM PL.
  • Experience with DDS (Distributed Data Systems).
  • Experience in C++20 or newer.
  • Experience with Linux device drivers.
  • Experience developing GPU software with Nvidia CUDA.
  • Radar or DSP knowledge.

This is your opportunity to join the Receiver Exciter and Processing Architecture Department as a Software Engineer I. The team’s primary goal is to design, architect, and implement signal processing algorithms on a variety of high-performance processing platforms – including CPUs, FPGAs and GPUs, on COTS and semi-custom hardware platforms, for next generation radar systems.

Salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
