Job summary

RTX is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer I for Marlborough, MA. You will work across the full lifecycle—from concept to deployment—developing radar processing algorithms, software requirements, and analysis tools while collaborating with Systems and Software Engineers.

This onsite role may require up to 20% travel to RTX facilities and customer locations. The position requires a Master’s in STEM, active DoD Secret clearance, and experience with radar architectures, signal processing, DOORS,

What You Will Do

Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Radar Systems Engineer I to join our Surface Radars and Radars team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, supporting a range of sensor and effector programs. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of the product, from concept development to deployment. Every day will bring new challenges, requiring collaboration across disciplines to troubleshoot issues, perform data analysis, and implement solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the success of mission‑critical defense systems, and you’ll have a hands‑on role in ensuring the entire system functions seamlessly. This is an onsite position based in Marlborough, Massachusetts. The role may require up to 20% travel to RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations to support test events and mission execution.

Qualifications
  • You Must Have Master’s degree in or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance.
  • Experience with design, development, and analysis of radar system and software architectures.
  • Experience with signal processing techniques in complex propagation environments.
  • Design experience in the following radar system areas; antenna, receiver/exciter, waveforms, digital beamforming, multi-sensor track management and data fusion, adaptive signal processing, clutter mitigation techniques, electronic attack and electronic protect, sensor resource management and mission planning.
  • Requirements development experience, including use of DOORS.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Python/C++.
  • Experience with technical writing and oral presentations.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted. However, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require RTX to shorten or extend the application window.
