Job summary

Propel Schools Opportunities is seeking a Head Varsity Track Coach for the 2026-27 season, running March through May at Propel Andrew Street, Braddock Hills, and Montour high schools. The role includes leadership of the coaching staff and coordination with the athletic director and other staff.

Successful candidates bring varsity/JV coaching experience, USATF certification, strong organization, and a commitment to Propel Habits.

Qualifications

• Prior Varsity or Junior Varsity coaching experience.
• USATF certification preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• High level of organization and planning is essential.
• Willingness to develop professionally and participate in trainings.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and lead coaching staff for the varsity track program.
• Support the Varsity program with the assistant coach and athletic director.
• Attend required PIAA preseason meetings and coaching trainings.
• Implement/off-season programs in line with WPIAL/PIAA regulations.

Opportunity:

Propel Schools is seeking an Head Varsity Track Coach for the 26-27 season starting this spring:

• Propel Andrew Street High School
• Propel Braddock Hills High School
• Propel Montour High School

Successful candidates will have:

• Prior Varsity or Junior Varsity coaching experience
• Preferred candidates will have student-athlete experience on the high school and/or intercollegiate level, prior high school coaching experience, & USATF certification
• Responsibility for assembling coaching staff
• Must possess knowledge of rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport
• Responsibility for supporting the Varsity program with the assistant coach, athletic director and other coaching staff
• Experience implementing off-season programs in accordance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations.
• Willingness and ability to attend all required PIAA preseason coaching meetings and mandatory coaching certification/trainings in compliance with PIAA regulations.
• High level of personal organization and planning
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development

Season Information:

• The 2026-2027 Varsity Track Season is scheduled to begin in and is anticipated to begin in March and conclude in May, although the season may end earlier/later depending on if the team participates in postseason.
• This position includes a seasonal stipend of $3,000. Please note that the stipend will be prorated for coaches who begin after the official start of the season.
