Job summary

Propel Schools is seeking a Head Varsity Track Coach for the 26-27 season, beginning in spring, across Propel Andrew Street, Braddock Hills, and Montour High Schools. The role requires varsity/junior varsity coaching background, plus USATF certification is preferred.

You will assemble staff and ensure compliance with WPIAL/PIAA rules and schedules. The position offers a seasonal stipend of $3,000, prorated if starting after the official start.

Qualifications

• Prior Varsity or Junior Varsity coaching experience is required.
• USATF certification is preferred.
• Responsibilities include assembling coaching staff.
• Must know rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
• Support the Varsity program with the assistant coach and athletic director.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and coordinate coaching staff for the varsity program.
• Attend required PIAA preseason coaching meetings and trainings.
• Coach and mentor student-athletes, emphasizing Propel Habits.
• Maintain high personal organization and planning in season.
• Foster strong communication and relationships with players, staff, and families.

Propel Schools is seeking an Head Varsity Track Coach for the 26-27 season starting this spring:

• Propel Andrew Street High School
• Propel Braddock Hills High School
• Propel Montour High School

Successful Candidates Will Have

• Prior Varsity or Junior Varsity coaching experience
• Preferred candidates will have student-athlete experience on the high school and/or intercollegiate level, prior high school coaching experience, & USATF certification
• Responsibility for assembling coaching staff
• Must possess knowledge of rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport
• Responsibility for supporting the Varsity program with the assistant coach, athletic director and other coaching staff
• Experience implementing off-season programs in accordance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations.
• Willingness and ability to attend all required PIAA preseason coaching meetings and mandatory coaching certification/trainings in compliance with PIAA regulations.
• High level of personal organization and planning
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development

Season Information

• The 2026-2027 Varsity Track Season is scheduled to begin in and is anticipated to begin in March and conclude in May, although the season may end earlier/later depending on if the team participates in postseason.
• This position includes a seasonal stipend of $3,000. Please note that the stipend will be prorated for coaches who begin after the official start of the season.
