Job summary

Propel Schools is seeking an Assistant Varsity Track Coach for the 26-27 season across Propel Andrew Street High School, Propel Braddock Hills High School, and Propel Montour High School.

The season runs March through May, with a $2,000 stipend that is prorated if the start date is later. Candidates should have varsity/JV coaching experience, USATF certification, and strong organizational and communication skills to develop a competitive program.

Qualifications

• Prior Varsity or Junior Varsity coaching experience.
• USATF certification and high school/collegiate student-athlete experience preferred.
• Head or assistant coaching experience and playing experience valued.
• Strong coaching skills with knowledge of rules, regulations and techniques.
• Highly organized with planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Varsity program with the head coach, athletic director and other coaching staff.
• Experience implementing off-season programs in accordance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations.
• Attend all required PIAA preseason coaching meetings and mandatory coaching certification trainings in compliance with PIAA regulations.

Propel Schools is seeking an Assistant Varsity Track Coach for the 26-27 season starting this winter:

• Propel Andrew Street High School
• Propel Braddock Hills High School
• Propel Montour High School

Successful Candidates Will Have

• Prior Varsity or Junior Varsity coaching experience
• Preferred candidates will have student-athlete experience on the high school and/or intercollegiate level, prior high school coaching experience, & USATF certification
• Preferred candidates will have experience as a head coach or assistant coach, playing experience, as well as the demonstrated ability to build a successful program starting at the varsity level
• Responsibility for supporting the Varsity program with the head coach, athletic director and other coaching staff
• Experience implementing off-season programs in accordance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations.
• Willingness and ability to attend all required PIAA preseason coaching meetings and mandatory coaching certification/trainings in compliance with PIAA regulations.
• Must possess effective coaching skills and knowledge of rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport
• High level of personal organization and planning
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development

Season Information

• The 2026-2027 Assistant Varsity Track Season is scheduled to begin in March and is anticipated to conclude in May, although the season may end earlier/later depending on if the team participates in postseason.
• This position includes a seasonal stipend of $2,000. Please note that the stipend will be prorated for coaches who begin after the official start of the season.
